How To Make Vietnamese 3 Color Dessert [Che Ba Mau]

This is a very DELICIOUS simple and refreshing Vietnamese dessert. Let's get Started!

Ingredients needed:

2-3 can of Coconut milk
1 bag of mung bean
Agar Agar Packet
Crushed Ice
1 can Condense Milk
1-2 cans of Kidney Beans

Serving is about 5-15 or more...

How to make the Green Agar-Agar:
Place 5 cups of water in a pot and add the packet shown in the video, and stir. Do not put over heat yet because it will mess up the agar-agar. Place the pot on the stove under high heat, stir constantly when it comes to a boil add 1 cup of sugar and add food coloring/flavor in this case I used pandan flavor and it is a dark green color. Let the sugar dissolve. Get about 3 cooking sheets ready, after the sugar is dissolve remove from heat and pour in the cooking sheet. Let it stand for about at least 20 to 30 minute. IT DOES NOT HAVE TO REFRIGERATED! It can simple lay out on your dining room table this is not jello.  When it is harden, cut into strip or the design you would like.

How to Make the Mung Bean:

Pour mung bean in a pot, clean it like it is raw rice than add water as if you are cooking rice. Stir occasionally, add about 1 cup of sugar. If the water is evaporated before the mung bean is cook add more water, when cooked remove from heat and drain water. Place it in a  large metal bowel and mash it. Add sugar to taste, if needed.

As for the kidney beans you can add three tablespoon of sugar for one can to make the beans taste ymmier!

You can also add red bean or what ever bean you like to give it a twist!

Goodluck and Enjoy!! ^^

Stir together until smooth and than place a plastic wrap over the bowl and microwave for 2 minutes after beens two minutes in the microwave, stir it, Careful because it is hot!! Put in the microwave for 1 more minute.. On a clear surface sprinkle rice flour and scoop out the mochi on the surface careful cause it is hot. Roll the mochi out in to a cylinder, cut them in to 1/2 in pieces, Roll the mochi out to be a flat circle and add your filling of your choice, taking the corners of the mochi put them together. In this process you have to be quick befor the mochi dries out but if this happens, they can be cut in mini pieces used for ice cream toppings.

I was craving for some kimchi pancake this morning, so I decide to share my technique of making Crispy Kimchi Pancake on youtube. There is also mixes for kimchi pancake that can be purchase at the Korean or Asian market. I made a simply because the kimchi pancake mixes are a bit expensive to purchase. The ingredients needed for this recipe:

1 1/3 cups of all purpose flour
1 cup of kimchi
1/4 cup of milk (optional)
1/3 of water
1 egg
1 1/12 tsp of sugar
1/8 tsp of salt (a pinch)

Add all the dry ingredients together, flour, sugar, and salt.... Stir away! Then add the wet ingredients except the kimchi..which is the milk, water and egg...Stir away until the batter is smooth with little flour lumps and then add the kimchi and Stir away promise this is the last time you will stir..

Cooking:

Oil a frying pan with about 1 TBS of oil, wait until it is hot, then add the batter on to the pan cook one side at a time....sneak a peek until golden brown underneath and then flip and wait until that side is golden brown... Pour soysauce in a little bowl for the dipping sauce...place the kimchi pancake on the plate....YUMMY... Time to eat!!! Enjoy!!!
